Pirates take Kothlis!

The Empire did little today as a pirate organization by the name of the Voth Freeholders made claim to the planet Kothlis of the Bothan Sector in the Mid Rim.

Coup by Imperial Officers Foiled

Several holonews networks have begun to report on the latest breaking news: an attempted coup inside the
Galactic Empire.

"Details are short, but Emperor Harker Stratos has issued and released a warrant for the capture of Former Admiral Lucien Sadi and Former Commander Relis Antilles of the Galactic Empire. He has this to say.

'These men attempted to interruped and break the treaty we currently hold with the Galactic Alliance, and are presumed to be agents of the United Imperium Remnant. Any information which leads to their arrest, capture, or termination will be rewarded with a one hundred fifty million credit compensation'

Sources state that the Ex-Imperials attempted to overthrow the Emperor by holding his ship over Coruscant and attempting to end his life. They fled after the valiant efforts of Trooper Cadet Arkhym Drall and Operations Supervisor Shisato Darktrayn succesfully aided the Emperor in retreating to Mon Calamari and recruiting the Alliance Chief of State. The group, calling themselves the "Imperial Coalition of the Iron Fist" released their own statement on the series of events:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have come before you today to announce the following. After a period of long deliberation and discussion, We the Imperial Coalition of the Iron Fist, have orchestrated a coup to take control of the Empire. The current Emperor, a man named Harker Stratos, has utterly failed to uphold the values and style of leadership once evidenced by our previous Emperor, the Lord Palpatine. As such, we hereby declare Our intent to excise this failure of an Emperor from the Galaxy and restore the proper style of rulership to the Empire- that of the iron fist. That is all." Alliance Chief of State Resigns

In an unexpected move, the current chief of state for the Galactic Alliance, Baron Max von Hessen of Corellia, resigns from his post. In his speeched he mentions that he has "felt tired lately; empty inside, just not there anymore"

Mon Calamari:
+ The Galactic Alliance Senate passed the 'Rahnan Djo Resolution' earlier this week instructing local and regional authorities to cooperate with Alliance intelligence to get to the bottom of the poisoning of Chief of State Djo. Djo's condition remains stable but comatose at an undisclosed military hospital.

Ord Mantell:
+ President Cerene Devinshire returned to the Executive Mansion today, having submitted a letter to Congress returning herself to power following a leave of absence. The timing is impeccable, given the departure of Vice President Harker Stratos. Stratos resigned to focus on his engineering company and to assist the Empire in a restructuring endeavor.
+ High Commissioner of Public Safety Exara Londara, now chair of the Ord Mantell United Congress's Ruling Council, forced the Council into deliberations today on whether or not to issue summons for Mrs. Devinshire to appear before the Council. The Ruling Council is the only organ of the Ord Mantell Government that can summon the President, an exercise that has never been used.

Coruscant:
+ Yun Dai, current Regent of the Galactic Empire, has announced his intention to retire today and went before the Imperial Senate to recommend a replacement in Harker Stratos. "Mr. Stratos has a long history of administrative success, which is exactly what the Empire needs at this time." The Senate will delibrate on Stratos' nomination. Stratos has worked with the Empire and "served immensely helpfully"

Thyferra:
+ Production of bacta was halted this week when a refinery exploded, killing twelve. Economists believe that this production halt will spell disaster for those planets in the Outer Rim facing repeated skirmishes with the Mandalorian/Imperium forces.

War! Gamorr, Barab I Fall to Imperium!

KAMINO--From the cloning world of Kamino, the points of light that represent Gamorr and Barab I are just visible to the naked eye. For residents of Kamino, this fact turned chilling today as its neighbors came under the rule of the Imperium.

The Imperium, whose last appearance on the galactic stage contributed to the resounding defeat of the New Republic and the state of chaos that gripped the galaxy during the war, has reared its ugly head in the outer rim, but until this week had only involved itself in light skirmishes with planetary defense fleets.

But in what was undoubtedly an act of war, the Imperium swiftly and ruthlessly conquered the planets of Barab I and Gamorr earlier today, breaking the back of the defense fleet and occupying the planet. No transmissions were able to leave the system, save for a distress call and a few extraneous transmissions made prior to and during the first stages of the invasion.

Amateur footage transmitted from Barab I by scientists indicate that the Imperium forces were using an advanced, laser-resistant dropship to insert its troops onto the surface. Some analysis of the footage has led to a startling conclusion: some of the soldiers dispatched by the Imperium to overrun Gamorr and Barab I were wearing Mandalorian armor, made famous by bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Experts caution that this is not a sure indication that the Imperium and the Mandalorian race are cooperating. "This may be a tactic used to discourage us," says Lindo Dhos, professor of social sciences at the University of Coronet on Corellia. "There's not enough evidence to support this thesis yet."

Ord Mantell
+ President Cerene Devinshire signed a letter to Congress effectively removing herself from office earlier this week for what she called "health-related issues." Vice President Harker Stratos will act as President until Devinshire signs a second letter, returning herself to power.

Coruscant
+ Nebula Queen, a luxury liner whose most recent voyage last year resulted in an attack by pirates, has returned to space after being refitted and repaired. The ship, a modified Venator-class Star Destroyer, will be accessible from the Serin Pluogus and will make port only when necessary to refuel and restock.
+ Coruscanti tabloids have reported an increase in the number of sightings of deceased persons, most notably the deceased Arcadeya Novari and Forenza Morcola. "You expect these kinds of reports whenever anyone famous dies, but the influx is above average. We're thinking of sponsoring a look-alike contest," said ZJ Dreggor, publisher of Coruscant-based Vanguard Weekly.

Mon Calamari
+ Chief of State Rahnan Djo has been quiet the last few weeks, prompting many to wonder whether the Chief of State is ill or otherwise indisposed. Spokespeople for the Chief of State have not been forthcoming and media requests to her office have not been returned.

Ithor
+ The floating city that threatened to plummet to the surface of Ithor has been saved, thanks to a team of Ithorian engineers and Ord Mantellian repair parts. The team repaired the repulsor, thereby easing concerns of the religious beings on the surface of the planet that the city would fall and destroy large swaths of sacred forests.

Mandalorian Agent Disrupts Unity Gala

ORD MANTELL--A Mandalorian agent, or an agent working on behalf of the Mandalorian body, disrupted this weekend's Unity Gala on Ord Mantell. According to witnesses, the agent blended in as a party guest until he took a female guest hostage. Following an apparent standoff with several Jedi and soldiers in attendance, the agent was wounded by an Imperial admiral.

Ord Mantell Defense Force officers, under the direction of Vice President Harker Stratos, entered and the suspect was taken into medical custody. Following what witnesses call a tense standoff between Ord Mantell Defense Force officers and mercenaries hired by Headmaster Yaivenov, the premises were vacated.

Chief of State Djo, Regent Yun Dai, and President Devinshire were unharmed in the incident. The hostage, who the holonet can confirm as being a female Twi'lek, suffered only mild irritation and tenderness of the skin. No other injuries were reported.

Presidential press secretary Ari Slysher released a statement the following morning stating that the agent, who was not identified, had escaped from the medical center where he was confined after killing two nurses. Citizens of the galaxy are warned that the agent should be assumed armed and dangerous.

Mon Calamari
+ Relations between newly elected Chief of State Djo and the Galactic Alliance Senate have been tense since her inauguration, but due to ministrations from the Chief of State's press office, the Senate has apparently been placated. Calling the Senate's reaction to Djo's inaugural speech "a simple misinterpretation", the Chief of State's press office seemed to ease concerns of too much executive power. Djo's Senate Liaison Lyra Menditz said that a press conference from Djo would be forthcoming.
+ Reconstruction efforts in Hyllkea City have been successful according to Mon Calamari emergency services. The water main that burst last month was repaired and all remaining damage is expected to be repaired within the week. Residents have been returning to Hyllkea City since earlier this week.

Ord Mantell
+ President Devinshire dispatched a team of engineers to nearby Ithor where they hope to repair a failed repulsor engine. Vice President Exara Londara and Minister of Commerce Harker Stratos were scheduled to appear on Ithor but changed at the last minute due to a shuffle on the home front. Devinshire's cabinet has gone through a major shakeup recently as Harker Stratos was nominated for Vice President, Londara for High Commissioner of Public Safety, and K'Par Narsh as Minister of Defense.

Corellia
+ Corellia's planetary legislature has declared the day that falls twenty days after Life Day to be 'Ishida Day', in honor of Kei'lan and Selia Ishida and their contributions to Corellia and the New Republic/Galactic Alliance. Plans to erect a statue of the late Chief of State Kei'lan Ishida in Government Plaza stalled last year due to a lack of funds.

Coruscant
+ Vandalization at Cartique was almost certainly perpetrated by an offended Ewok, Imperial City police told reporters today. "Judging from the evidence that no marks were made higher than three feet from the ground, and that certain toy-bear-like fibers were found at the scene, there's almost no question that an Ewok was responsible.
+ Some call it a religion, others call it a cult. Ruune clan Neith's (Rodia) religion, called Nalv'ethi Divine Praetorial, is described by Neith as an effort for "the continuation of an intelligent and enlightened Galaxy," and maintained that the mysterious group is "quite harmless unless provoked". Nalv'ethi Divine Praetorial plans to move into its religious facilities on Coruscant within the next several months.
